A romantic place for couples, it is not so amazing if you are going for sight-seeing, except for the Eiffel Tower. The subway station is so confusing for tourists like us, but I have come out with a way to summarise everything. Always remember to get a day pass for the subway as it is more worth it!
From PORTE MAILLOT - CHAM DE MARS TOUR EIFFEL (LINE C), is where EIFFEL TOWER is located.
Continue to ST-MICHEL NOTRE DAME (LINE C), you will see NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL. It is free entrance and they sell very unique medallion @ EUR2 coin. Start walking to see places like BHV (Shopping Area), HOTEL DE VILLE, TOUR SAINT JACQUE, SAINTE CHAPELLE and finally MUSEE DU LOUVRE. All the building structures are exquisite and with historical backgrounds. Just also take note that MUSEE DU LOUVRE is CLOSED EVERY TUESDAY!
Continue to walk along AV. DE L'OPERA (near PYRAMIDES STATION), there is a shop call KAM'S that sell many branded items @ 20% + 13% discount.
At the end of AV. DE L'OPERA, you will see OPERA GARNIER where you can watch musical performance and GALATIRS LAFAYETTE where it is the most popular shopping area tourists always go.
At about 2030hrs, take the subway from SAINT-AUGUSTINE - TROCADERO (LINE 9), you will be able to see the night view of EIFFEL TOWER from PALAIS DE CHAILLOT. The most amazing view of the sparkling EIFFEL TOWER will start exactly at 2100hrs! After a 'WOW' night from this famous "One of the Seven Wonders", have a great fine-dining at the nearby restaurants.
Continue the subway to CHARLES DE GAULLE ETOILE (LINE 6), and you will see the night view of ARC DE TRIOMPHE ETOILE.
Finally, go back to PORTE MAILLOT (LINE 1) where the hotel is located and have a great rest!
